Ron & Alma Boyd

Ron and Alma hold multiple undergraduate degrees in business administration, accounting, psychology and sociology while Ron has his Master of Divinity and Doctor of Ministry. Alma says her best degree was the “MRS” degree she got when she married Ron in 1977. From their union they have two children Robbie and Ashley. God has blessed Ron and Alma with a wonderful daughter-in-law, Mindy, Son-in-law, Dan and four precious grandchildren Izze, Riley, Annie and Avery.   Life has been busy for the Boyds through the years with juggling work, church and family but God has been good and blessed them through it all. 

They have both been licensed ministers over 40 years with shared leadership positions as Senior Pastor in Virginia and California, Childrens Pastors, Youth Pastors, Youth Camp Directors, Worship Leader, Mission Team Coordinators in Virginia and California/Nevada.  Alma also served as the State Overseer’s Private Secretary and Ron served on multiple State Committees with many state secretary titles as well as the Assistant to the Administrative Bishop in Virginia.  Through the years Ron and Alma have always been Mission minded and they traveled to Belarus three different years, to take supplies for the state run orphanages and to minister to children and pastors there.   

Ron and Alma have both been bi-vocational for most of their adult lives.  Their secular occupations have encompassed Ron working various jobs at LOA of Virginia for the past 34 years.  He currently serves as President and CEO of the Local Office On Aging. serving on various local Boards as well as Commonwealth of Virginia Boards and Councils.  Alma has worked in management of medical offices, finance positions, raising their two children and now assisting with their four grandchildren’s daily needs.  Alma says the one position she took most hesitantly was Harvest Finance Pastor, but it has been such a joy and a privilege to watch the church thrive and to see the debt reduced.  She says she can’t wait to celebrate with our church family when she gets to process the final mortgage payment!

You might not know it but Alma was the youngest of 9 children, and early in her teen years assisted her parents in pastoral work, by playing the piano and leading worship.  She also started in her teens teaching kids church and directing VBS for some of the smaller churches her father pastored.

Ron and Alma possess servants’ hearts.  They serve tirelessly with love and enthusiasm and a spirit of excellence for God’s kingdom.  With every task that is assigned to them they face it with creativity, passion and compassion.  They pray for you often and love our Harvest Kids with all of their hearts.  They pour into them every week with the desire to see them grow in grace and love.    Alm takes the handling of God’s money and church finances as a personal calling with devotion to God and our congregation  She reads each note you send with tithes and offerings. Many times, she stops to cry and pray for individual needs and requests. Ron and Alma Pastors after Gods own heart full of integrity, and we are thankful to have them as an integral part of our Harvest Pastoral Team and family!
